Carpet Field Sand

For carpet field sand, silica sands are washed and dried, then sieved and brought to a range of 0.500-1 mm. It is packaged in 50 kg bags and offered for sale. Approximately 30 kg of silica sand is needed per m2 in carpet pitches. Sieve analysis in carpet field sand is important for the rapid discharge of rain water from the field.

'During the construction of the astroturf, special silica sand that has been sieved, washed, oven-dried according to the "Technical Specifications of the Carpet Field", weighing 28-30 kg per m2, is fed into the carpet with a sand pouring and brushing apparatus. The silica sand used for this is called "astroturf sand".'

“It is used as raw material in the production of precast facade coatings, beach sand in the tourism sector, and "astroturf sand" in sports facilities with artificial floor coverings.”

Carpet Sand Specification

1-) According to the layout plan of the football field in accordance with the project, Nivo, Mira etc. marked using.

2-) Necessary excavation works are carried out in accordance with the Project.

3-) The upper level of the field is adjusted to be + 25 cm. In addition, it is applied to the sides of the field from the inside to the outside with 0.8% inclination on all four sides with a +/- 2 cm elevation tolerance. After the leveling is completed, the ground is compacted with a roller.

4-) Drainage pits are herringbone-shaped inner channels are opened with a 1% inclination from the middle line to the edges, and the surrounding channels are opened with a 0.5% inclination.

5-) The main channels are connected to the drainage water collection manholes with a floor width of 60 cm and an upper width of 70 cm.

6-) Within the opened channels, 5 cm thick 1-7 mm toothed river sand is laid and compacted. Q 100 mm perforated drainflex drainage pipes are laid in the channels and connection is made with the surrounding channels. The tops of the pipes are filled up to the level of the canal with #4 gravel (30-40mm).

8-) The laid material is compacted transversely and longitudinally with a double tandem roller without vibration. Care must be taken not to deteriorate the camber of the field.

9-) Crushed stone no. 1-2 (10mm-20mm) dust-free gravel is laid on the laid gravel by measuring the ground levels and controlling the medium camber, and compacted again by roller.
